Cooling Unit Sizing Table for Le Cache Wine Cabinets

The following guidelines are designed to help you select the correct CellarPro wine cooling unit for your Le Cache wine cabinet, based on the Thermal Load BTUH. If you need assistance understanding the charts, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone, email or live chat(a).

CellarPro 1800 QTL Our quietest cooling unit is designed for residential applications. The 1800QTL is appropriate for all but the largest wine cabinets, and requires that the cabinet is located in a temperature-controlled environment.

CellarPro 1800 QT Slightly louder than the 1800QTL, this cooling unit provides extra BTU and easily can maintain 55°F in our largest wine cabinets.

CellarPro 1800 XT The 1800XT cooling unit is recommended for wine cabinets that will be placed in restaurants and other commercial applications, as well as non-temperature-controlled environments—like garages and basements. These cooling units require fresh air with a maximum temperature of 95F, and minimum temperature of 40F. If fresh air temperatures will drop below 40F, we will need to add a compressor heater to the cooling unit, which will reduce the minimum temperature from 40F to 20F.

CellarPro 1800 XTS The 1800XTS cooling unit primarily is used in standalone wine cellars; however, it can be placed in Le Cache wine cabinets that will be in extreme environments. An additional charge of $200 will apply.

We provide the estimated thermal loads for Le Cache wine cabinets across a range of ambient temperatures to help you select the appropriate CellarPro wine cooling unit for your wine cabinet. The tables are shaded to show which cooling units in the 1800 Series will and will not work given the thermal load derived from the size of the cabinet and the ambient temperature.

Assumptions regarding restocking and opening/closing of the doors are appropriate for residential applications. If the wine cabinet will be placed in a commercial environment, the thermal load will be higher, so CellarPro's 1800XT is recommended.

(a) To calculate the approximate "run time" over a 24-hour period, divide the thermal load (based on the average ambient over the 24-hour period) by the BTUH. For reference purposes, the calculated BTUH at 55°F for Breezaire WKC1060 is 1054 and Breezaire WKC2200 is 1328.
