Shipping Information - Le Cache

We generally ship wine cabinets from our northern California warehouse within 1-2 weeks of receiving an order. Once shipped, it can take up to 2 to 3 weeks for wine cabinets to be delivered. 

Shipping Methods

For wine cabinet orders placed directly through Le Cache, we always include inside delivery (ground floor) and set-up, removal of packaging materials (if desired), and complete insurance coverage when we arrange shipping. For orders placed through a dealer, shipping costs, freight carrier and class of service will be determined by that dealer unless otherwise specified.

For BILD orders, we ship via common carrier with curbside delivery.  If you require additional services, such as a lift-gate or inside delivery, please let us know.

Shipping Costs

For orders placed directly through Le Cache: Shipping costs are charged based on contract rates from third-party freight carriers plus a small handling charge that is intended to cover the cost of processing, handling and packaging your order. We do not attempt to make profits from shipping and handling charges. We consider cost, delivery speed and service, damage rates and claims resolution processes when deciding which freight carrier to use. All of our delivery quotes are for standard shipping and include inside delivery and set-up, removal of packaging, and insurance.

Standard shipping includes 2 men (4 men for the Models 3800 and 5200), lift gate-equipped truck, inside delivery to 1st floor or any floor accessible to an elevator (within 100' of truck), unpacking, debris removal, and leveling cabinet with a total site time not to exceed 1/2 hour. Additional charges (not covered by Le Cache) may be required if:

  • You are located outside a regular service area;
  • Additional men are required to safely perform delivery services at your location;
  • Extra site time is required to provide delivery services to your location;
  • Your location has extraordinary delivery conditions - such as stairs, distance to truck greater than 100' or difficult access; and/or
  • Delivery appointments are scheduled with 24 hour telephone notice prior to delivery. If you require a more specific time delivery, or if you require a weekend delivery, additional charges may apply.

For orders placed through a dealer: Shipping costs, freight carrier and class of service are determined by the dealer unless otherwise specified. Some dealers mark-up shipping and handling charges and/or charge extra for inside delivery and set-up of our wine cabinets.

In the Event of Freight Damage

Before we ship any orders from our Petaluma facility, we open, inspect and repackage all merchandise. Therefore, you can be certain that your order was in perfect condition before it was released to the freight carrier.

At the time of delivery, customers are responsible for inspecting both the packaging and the merchandise.  If file a damage claim will need to filed, the condition of the packaging, the Shockwatch indicator and the wine cabinet must be described in full on the bill of lading. It also is very important to call the dealer or Le Cache BEFORE the delivery men leave the delivery site. Failure to follow these instructions may result in a denied insurance claim and/or billings for nonrefundable freight charges.

In the event of freight damage, the freight company has, at its discretion, the right to repair or replace the damaged item, provided that the wine cabinet is in “as new” condition after the repair.
