NOW WITH THE MOST ADVANCED AND QUIETEST COOLING UNITS FROM CELLARPRO!
The Euro 2400 is our most popular size wine cabinet, with hardwood French doors and space-saving double-door design..

Total Capacity: 286 bottles
Size: 44w x 31d x 88h (in)

Details

The Euro 2400 is the cabinet for a collector who has moved past chilling wine and needs to actually age it. At 286 bottles across double-deep all-wood racking and a dedicated bulk section, it holds a serious mid-size collection under conditions that matter for long-term storage: precise temperature and adjustable humidity control, managed by a CellarPro cooling unit that also happens to be the quietest in Le Cache's lineup. The Provincial Cherry finish — crown and base molding, hardwood French doors, hand-carved accents and hand-turned pewter pulls with security locks — is drawn from the Pinnacle Award-winning European Country Series by designer Martin de Blois, and it reads as furniture in a way that most wine storage does not.

Placement is straightforward. SB/0™ Technology and top-vent exhaust mean the cabinet sits flush against the wall without clearance requirements that typically complicate freestanding units. Foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation and double-pane tinted glass keep the interior thermally stable and block UV. The universal all-wood interlock racking accommodates oversized formats — Champagne, Burgundy, large-format Napa Cabernets — alongside standard 750ml bottles without any modifications. A five-year warranty covers the cooling system; two years covers the cabinet.

What These Specs Mean

  • Startup Amps: The compressor draws significantly more current at startup than during normal operation — this peak figure (up to 20.1 Amps depending on unit) determines the minimum dedicated circuit rating required for safe installation.
  • Cooling Unit Model (QTL / QT / XT): Three CellarPro units are available at different performance tiers; the correct choice depends on the ambient temperature of the room where the cabinet will be placed — use the Thermal Load Calculations link above to determine which unit fits your installation.

Placement Requirements

PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS

POWER REQUIREMENT:
The power cord extends 6 1/2 feet from the rear of the cabinet. If an extension cord is used, it should be 14-gauge wire or thicker, grounded, and as short as possible.

The cooling unit plugs into a standard grounded wall outlet. We recommend adding a surge protector, rated at 15 amps or more (for example, click here), to protect the cooling unit from power surges.

The outlet must be on a dedicated circuit. The components of the cooling unit draw 3 amps, and the electric outlet on the side of the cooling unit also is rated for 3 amps. The cooling unit should not, under any circumstances, share a circuit with another motor or compressor-based appliance, like a wine cooler, fridge, air conditioner, or garage opener.

FLOOR SURFACE
Because of the significant weight of your wine cabinet, it is important that it be placed on a hard surface; otherwise, the cabinet may become skewed if the doors settle unevenly over time. If you will be placing your cabinet on thick carpeting, consider placing a carpet board underneath the wine cabinet. You can purchase a carpet board from Le Cache, or you can have your local hardware store cut a 3/4 inch plywood board to the following dimensions: 45w x 25d (inches).

DOOR SWING CLEARANCE
The doors of our wine cabinets swing wide by approximately 1 inch when open at 90 degrees. The additional width should be accounted for when purchasing cabinets that do not have moldings because the stated widths of our wine cabinets do not account for the door swing. Please note that the additional width is required in front of the cabinet.

WEIGHT LOAD FACTOR
After loading your wine cabinet with wine bottles, it will be extremely heavy. When selecting a location for your cabinet, make sure that the floor underneath is strong enough to support the weight of the cabinet.

TEMPERATURE REQUIREMENTS
CellarPro cooling units are designed to handle temperatures ranging from 50 to 95F.

VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS
The cooling unit generates hot air that must be exhausted in such a way that it won't be recirculated by the cooling unit. If the hot air cannot be dissipated or channeled properly, and the cooling unit is forced to recycle its own hot air, the cooling unit will be unable to maintain cold temperatures inside the wine cabinet and/or will overheat and/or will run all the time. Proper ventilation can be achieved in one of three ways:

  • 1. UPRIGHT CABINETS WITH TOP-VENT CONFIGURATIONS
Our upright wine cabinets have been engineered with top-vent cooling units and SB/0 Technology so that they can be placed right up against the wall. In this configuration, the hot air generated by the cooling unit is ventilated through the top of the wine cabinet, and the return air comes from above the wine cabinet, so there must be clearance above and to the sides of the cabinets for the hot air to dissipate, as follows:
    • Contemporary wine cabinets, Carolina wine cabinets, Loft wine cabinets, Vault wine cabinets and a Semi-Custom wine cabinets require 18 inches of clearance above the wine cabinet.
    • European Country wine cabinets and Mission wine cabinets require 12 inches of clearance above the wine cabinet.
    • The sides always need to be open - in other words, placement in a corner, enclosed space, alcove, or closet will not work without our front-vent hood (see Configuration 3 below).
  • 2. UPRIGHT CABINETS WITH Rear-Vent Configurations
Our upright wine cabinets can be configured so that the return air comes from behind the wine cabinet. This configuration is useful in situations where sufficient clearance around the wine cabinet doesn't exist. In this configuration:
    • If the rear of the wine cabinet is not accessible, a minimum clearance of 7 1/2 inches above the wine cabinet is required for removal and replacement of the cooling unit air filter.
    • If the rear of the wine cabinet is accessible, a minimum clearance of 3 inches above the wine cabinet is required for proper airflow, and we recommend using our air deflector to direct the hot air exhaust to the left of the wine cabinet.
    • In all cases, the wine cabinet must be placed 3-4 inches away from the rear wall.
    • The sides always need to be open - in other words, placement in a corner, enclosed space, alcove, or closet will not work without our front-vent hood (see Configuration 3 below).
  • 3. UPRIGHT CABINETS with Front-Vent Hoods
If you want to place the wine cabinet flush against the wall but you don't have the required clearance (as outlined in Configuration 1 above), or you want to place the wine cabinet in an enclosed space, closet, or alcove, our front-vent hood (placed on top of the wine cabinet) can be used with 7 1/2 inches of clearance above the wine cabinet for removal of the hood and the air filter. Please note:
    • Contemporary wine cabinets, Loft wine cabinets and Vault wine cabinets can use our front vent hood with OR without the decorative grill.
    • European Country wine cabinets, Mission wine cabinets and Carolina wine cabinets can use our front vent hood without the decorative grill (the decorative grill will not fit with crown moldings).

4. CREDENZA WINE CABINETS
Credenza wine cabinets don't require any clearance above the wine cabinet; however, all credenzas require 3-4 inches of space behind the wine cabinet because all the ventilation (intake and exhaust) occurs behind the cabinet.

Please note:
(1) We count the top of the racks as 1 row when counting rows in our racks.
(2) Every slot in the racks is 3 3/4" and sized to fit oversized Burgundy and most Champagne-size bottles.
(3) Bulk storage is located atop the racks (except for the first row atop the racks). Bulk storage capacity is based on Bordeaux-size bottles.
(4) Total capacity is the sum of racked plus bulk capacity, with double-deep storage in all cases except the Contemporary Credenza (which is single-deep). Usable capacity may be lower by 2-3 bottles when the first few cells under the cooling unit are left empty for proper air circulation.

Q&A

Is the Le Cache Euro 2400 freestanding, or can it be placed flush against a wall?

A: The Euro 2400 is a freestanding cabinet but uses Le Cache's SB/0™ Technology, which allows it to sit flush against a wall without clearance gaps at the rear. Exhaust vents through the top of the cabinet, so no rear or side airflow clearance is needed. This makes it well-suited for dining rooms, living rooms or finished basements where you want a built-in look without a true built-in installation.

What are the electrical requirements, and do I need a dedicated circuit?

A: The cabinet runs on 115V AC / 60 Hz standard household current. Running amperage is low — the quietest CellarPro 1800QTL-ECX draws just 2.4 amps while running — but startup (compressor kick-in) amps are significantly higher: 14.2 amps for the QTL, up to 20.1 amps for the QT and XT models. A dedicated 20-amp circuit is strongly recommended to handle startup loads cleanly, especially if the outlet is shared with other appliances.

Does the 286-bottle rating hold up with larger Bordeaux or Burgundy bottles?

A: The 256 racked slots are sized at 3.8-inch spacing, which accommodates standard Bordeaux, Burgundy and most Napa Cabernet bottles. The universal all-wood interlock racking system is specifically designed to fit oversized bottles. The remaining 30-bottle bulk space is stacked rather than individually slotted, so heavier or irregularly shaped bottles can go there. Real-world capacity with a mixed cellar will be very close to the stated 286.

How does this cabinet manage humidity, and why does that matter for long-term aging?

A: Unlike standard wine coolers or refrigerators, the Euro 2400 includes adjustable humidity control through the CellarPro unit — not just temperature. Low humidity dries out corks, allowing oxygen into the bottle and accelerating premature aging. The cabinet's sealed seams, foil-backed polyisocyanurate insulation and double-pane tinted glass work together to maintain stable internal conditions, making it suitable for long-term aging of fine wines, not just short-term chilling.

How quiet is the CellarPro cooling unit in a living space?

A: Le Cache specifically markets this generation of Euro 2400 as featuring the most advanced and quietest CellarPro cooling units available. The 1800QTL-ECX runs at the lowest amperage draw (2.4 amps) and is the quietest of the three cooling unit options. Le Cache publishes detailed sound performance data at their website for buyers who want to compare decibel levels across cooling unit configurations before selecting one.

What does the warranty cover, and for how long?

A: The warranty has two separate terms: 2 years on the entire cabinet (woodwork, hardware, glass, racks) and 5 years on the CellarPro cooling unit. An optional extended warranty is also available for buyers who want coverage beyond those periods. The cooling unit being US-made and backed by a 5-year term is a meaningful differentiator — most wine cooler compressors in this price class carry only 1–2 year coverage.
