Transtherm Adjustable Fixed Shelf #7700
Overview
For the NEW style Transtherm Ermitage and Castel wine cabinets, these shelves are all wood and designed to hold up to 77 stacked bottles per shelf.
Details
When a Transtherm Ermitage or Castel cabinet becomes the backbone of a serious cellar, the shelving inside matters as much as the cooling. This solid Beechwood fixed shelf uses Transtherm's “free fixation” system to let you position it anywhere along the cabinet's interior rails — no fixed slots, no compromises — while accommodating the full range of bottle shapes you're likely to mix across a Bordeaux and Burgundy collection. Each shelf stacks up to 77 bottles, making it one of the most efficient configurations available for the Ermitage and Castel lineup. Made in France and designed exclusively for cabinets produced from 2013 onward.

Q&A
Which Transtherm cabinets is this shelf compatible with?
A: This shelf is designed specifically for the new-style Transtherm Ermitage and Castel wine cabinets. It is not compatible with any Transtherm cabinet sold before 2013. If you are unsure of your cabinet's production year, check the serial number or documentation that came with the unit before ordering.
How many bottles does one shelf hold, and does it accommodate different bottle shapes?
A: Each shelf holds up to 77 stacked bottles. The "free fixation" system is designed to accept the widest range of bottle sizes, so it handles both standard Bordeaux and wider Burgundy-style bottles without requiring a separate configuration. The stacking arrangement visible in the product image confirms it accommodates mixed bottle shapes side by side on a single shelf.
What is the "free fixation" system and how does it affect shelf placement?
A: The free fixation system allows each shelf to be repositioned along the interior of the cabinet without being locked into fixed increments. This gives you maximum flexibility in vertical spacing between shelves — useful when mixing standard 750ml bottles with magnums or other large-format sizes that need more clearance.
What is this shelf made of?
A: The shelf is constructed from solid Beechwood and is made in France. It measures 21" wide x 21" deep x 1¼" high and weighs 7.1 lbs. The all-wood construction keeps bottles resting on a natural surface rather than metal, which some collectors prefer for long-term storage.
Is there a rolling shelf version available, and when would you choose one over this fixed shelf?
A: Yes, Transtherm also offers rolling shelves for the same new-style cabinets. The fixed shelf is the better choice when you are maximizing bottle count — it holds up to 77 bottles and keeps inventory dense and stable. Rolling shelves trade some capacity for easier access, which suits collectors who rotate bottles frequently or want to pull a shelf forward to inspect labels without disturbing the rest of the stack.

Great shelving for a great unit
by W Wagner
Bought the fridge about 15 years ago and it still is working great. One of the shelves got some mildew damage so got this replacement. It and the unit are working great. Other shelves look great after 15 years.
