Loft 1200 153-Bottle Dual Zone Cellar, #8740

Our most advanced wine cooler! Dual temperature zones in one advanced-engineered cellar allow you to control the temperature for your aging reds, as well as chill crisp whites.

Loft 1200 153-Bottle Dual Zone Cellar (P/N CTW-168DF-SS). The upper zone can be set from 41-59°F, and the lower zone can be set from 45-64°F.

The door frame is stainless steel, and the body of the wine cooler is black.

Bordeaux-size bottles will fit in all shelves. Oversized bottles (such as Burgundy and Champagne) bottles will fit in some but not all shelves, as follows:

  • Upper section: Top (display) shelf, and bottom shelf
  • Lower section: Approximately 2/3s of the shelves. There are 4-5 shelves with plenty of room, and 3-4 shelves that are tight but doable, and 4-5 where only Bordeaux will fit. Once the wine cooler is loaded with bottles, the weight on each shelf may affect the spacing such that the "tight but doable" shelves no longer will accommodate oversized bottles.

I got the LEMON !

For the 1st year of ownership I was happy with my purchase and then the problems started. My loft 1200 just stopped working due to a faulty mother board. The next generation mother board was supplied at no cost but the install was not covered ( $ 100.00 ) This resolved the issue for awhile, but now the digital display reads 60 degrees ( upper ) 64 degrees ( lower ) and I cannot manually adjust to a lower temperature. This issue have been communicated to customer service and it has been 60+ days waiting for an answer. PS When waiting for the replacement motherboard I ask what happens if some wines go bad an the reply was " don't worry about it because I wouldn't know how long the 100 or so bottles had been on a store shelf before they were purchased. I guess they don't think wines purchased directly from the vineyards are stored properly.

It took a while to get here, but now that it is set up, it is working well and looks very nice. I love the wood pull out drawers, nice blue lighting and it is quiet. One thing to note is that you do have to tug on the drawer to release it as it locks into place. At first I was not pulling hard enough. Next, as others have noted, if you have some nonstandard or Cab/Bordeaux sized bottles, then you will have to be creative in how you put them in there. We favour mostly red, yet we had 2 cases of oddly shaped bottles and still managed to get 4 cases stocked with some room to spare. The key was located below the bottom shelf and I had to feel around to locate it, FYI for when you order, it is there, just gotta look. I would suggest they notate that it fits up to 153 standard Bordeaux/cab wine bottles. That stated, the drawers are removable, so one could remove and arrange for larger format bottles, you just would not be able to store as much. I feel it is a better deal than the Cave, real wood drawers and it looks great as well. And in Dallas, we really could not keep any wines at the correct temperature here without an actual cellar.

please read the fine print

If your collection isn't all Bordeaux bottles, please make sure to read that you'll have to arrange your own transportation to get the cellar back to Cotati, CA, and also that you'll have to pay hundreds of dollars in "restocking" fees. Buyer beware.

Great for Bordeaux bottles but not a full collection.

This cellar is designed to fit standard Bordeaux bottles but if you collect Burgundy, Champagne, or even buy bottles that are somewhat wider than normal then this isn't a good cellar for you. I will say that the quality, craftsmanship and customer service are amazing but in the end I needed a cellar that would hold my collection and not just my Cabs so this one will have to go back.

Awesome service once delivered

IWA was backordered on this item but it did not affect our remodel schedule. Once delivered it was everything we had anticipated. The delivery was smooth. They brought it inside and unpacked everything and then took all packing materials. We still have yet to install it in our new kitchen but it looks great.

Looks Great

The wine cooler fits like a glove in our former closet, and looks great, as illustrated in the attached photo. It is not yet filled up....has only about one case worth of wine so far...noise is noticeable when compressor comes on, but it does not come on unusually frequently. The instructions were quite clear in setting up the unit.
