Lock Replacement Instructions

LOCK REMOVAL
  1. To remove locking cam, hold cam with a crescent wrench and use a 7/16" open end wrench to remove nut. Pull tab end washers off of aluminum stem.
  2. Use phillips driver to remove black cover plate.
  3. Using a 7/8" deep socket with a 1/2" drive, remove jam nut at base of stem. Lock may now be pulled out from door face.
LOCK INSTALLATION

The middle notch of the outside ring of face points up. The lock is in unlocked position when the cam is facing up. The lock is in locked position when the cam is 90 degrees to the left for right hand opening doors, and 90 degrees to the right for left hand opening doors.

  1. Push lock through door face in the unlocked position.
  2. Use key inserted into lock to hold in position. Slide retainer washer over lock barrel from the rear matching the two flats to the barrel, and the holding barbs towards the wood.
  3. With needle nose pliers begin threading jam nut onto barrel. Finish tightening nut with 7/8" deep socket.
  4. Replace black cover plate.
  5. Add cam (bend is away from door) washer, and nut to complete. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE NUT! THE SHAFT OF THE LOCK IS ALUMINUM AND THE THREADS WILL BECOME STRIPPED IF THE NUT IS OVERTIGHTENED.
