What are the optimal conditions for proper wine storage?

Wine should be stored in the following type of environment:

Temperature – A cool, constant temperature ranging from 55 – 57ºF is optimal for proper wine storage and aging. Our wine cabinets maintain temperature and fluctuation with digital precision.

Humidity – Relative humidity in the range of 50 to 70% is ideal for long-term aging of wine. Our cooling system removes excess moisture in the air and is designed to maintain the appropriate level of humidity inside the wine cabinet

Darkness – Darkness is required to protect wine bottles from UV rays that can cause tannins to oxidize. Our tinted double-pane glass windows block UV rays to protect bottles inside the cabinets.

Clean Air – Clean air is vitally important for proper wine storage and aging, which is why the environment inside our wine cabinet is completely sealed from outside odors and disturbances when the doors are closed.

Vibration – Vibration can disrupt the aging process as fine wine matures. Our all-wood interlock racking system is hand-finished and stationary to eliminate unnecessary movement.

Where can I place my wine cabinet?
|
|
Le Cache wine cabinets can be placed directly against the wall, and require 18 inches of unrestricted open space above the wine cabinet. Le Cache wine cabinets cannot be placed in an enclosed space without proper ventilation.
Your floor must be able to support the weight of the wine cabinet and your wine collection at three pounds per bottle.

Can I place my wine cabinet in the garage?
|
|
You can place your wine cabinet in the garage provided that temperatures don’t exceed 85 – 90ºF in the summer, and temperatures don’t drop below 55ºF in the winter.

Do I need a special electrical outlet for my cabinet?
|
|
Our wine cabinets plug into standard wall outlets, and draw 3 amps of power (4 amps for the 2200 BTU cooling unit). Extension cords used should be 14-gauge and grounded.

Is the wine cabinet quiet?
|
|
Our wine cabinets are designed to be ultra-quiet and vibration-free. When the cooling unit is running, its motor emits 52-54 decibels, which is quieter than a coffee percolator.

How cold can I set the temperature? How warm? Can I set multiple temperature zones?
|
|
Our wine cabinets allow temperatures to be set as low as 48ºF and as high as 62ºF. Unlike wine coolers, our wine cabinets are designed to create ideal conditions for preserving and aging fine wine. We do not offer multiple temperature zones.

What kind of warranty comes with the wine cabinet?
|
|
We stand behind our wine cabinets with the best warranty in the industry. Each wine cabinet is backed by a five-year warranty on the entire cooling system and a two-year warranty on the wine cabinet.

When will my wine cabinet arrive? How will it be delivered?
|
|
We generally ship our wine cabinets within 3-5 business days from the time we receive your order. Once shipped, it will take 2-3 weeks for your cabinet to be delivered.
When your wine cabinet arrives in your local market, the local delivery agent will call you at least 24 hours in advance to schedule your delivery.
Additional delivery fees may be required if more than two men are required to safely perform delivery services to your location. Extraordinary delivery conditions – such as stairs, distance to truck greater than 100 feet, or difficult access – may require additional delivery fees.
Le Cache wine cabinets are delivered preassembled. You are responsible for ensuring that sufficient access exists for the cabinet to reach its final destination in your home or business.
